New and Newsmain page | queer links | news | s.f. comedy | festivals | general links
OK, this is where new additions to the website and news of queer comedy in the real world can be found. Fortunately, I'm kind of obsessive about updaing websites, so if you're obsessive about checking them, hopefully you'll come back often. This is what QComedy has instead of a blog. Note: Links open in new window. -- Larry-bob Past year QComedy news archives: 2009 | 2008 | 2007 | 2006 | 2005 | 2004 | 2003 | 2002 | 2001 | 2000 For links to queer comedian websites in alphabetic order, see here. Posted 2/23/2010: Posted links to the Facebook, Myspace and Twitter pages of Mehran Khaghani, who is an Iranian-American comedian based in Boston. He's performing in San Francisco on Friday March 12 at Swedish American Hall (upstairs from Cafe Du Nord) in a show called "There are no Gays in Iran." Also check out this article on him from the Boston Globe titled He's Iranian, he's gay - and he's funny. Posted 2/7/2010: What's new in 2010? For entertainment and pop-culture reporter Ed Karvoski Jr., it's a new website with a new domain name: www.edkarvoskijr-author.com. Karvoski is the author of five books including the best-seller "A Funny Time to Be Gay: Hilarious Gay & Lesbian Comedy Routines from Trailblazers to Today's Headliners (Fireside/Simon & Schuster, 1997), soon to be released as an e-book in 2010. "There's not a closet big enough to hold this book!" raves Whoopi Goldberg on the books cover. "These performers, many of whom I've worked with, are here and now. You'll get to hang out and laugh. Enjoy this!" Karvoski and his books have been featured in countless publications including The New York Times, USA Weekend, Publishers Weekly, The Advocate and Out. Additionally, the Village Voice dubbed him "an insatiable vacuum cleaner in the showbiz closet." Details about the e-book release are forthcoming.
